Dearest friends...
have you wondered Where I have been,
Let me tell you a tale,
**********
As the sun sets on a quiet little country town
and you start to see the trees glisten with the rays of
yellows, oranges, and reds.
The sky softening to a pink blended with a dusky grayish blue....
...imagine walking in old leather boots
barely laced due to the age of the worn leather strap laces.
.....The train tracks stretch far far beyond your field of vision
almost as if you are climbing a staircase into another city
one that rests within the clouds
....You can still feel the rumble beneath your feet
on the warm train tracks.
A rumble that is slowly fading away with each step you take.
...Those are the steps I took this morning as I said goodbye..
"Good-bye" to my wonderful adventure
as a CIRCUS PERFORMER.
...I stood at the edge of the tracks
stairing at the wooden car
One of many wooden train cars that carried a
Wonderfully mysterious and magical group of characters.
....I stood there with my tattered knickers and my trunk,
and waved good-bye to those I had come to see as
family.
...Goodbye to the acrobats, the lion tamer,
and the magnificint elephants
....Goodbye to the high flying trapeze girl, the strong man,
and of course the clowns
....Goodbye freaks, and fortune tellers
Goodbye all you Gypsy Souls...
..As I made it down the tracks
halfway to home
I noticed a little piece of yellow fabric pinched betwen the doors
of my beat up ole trunk
I don't remember this fabric
I decided to open the trunk and see what was inside
OHHHH!
...What a magical and delightful sight awaited me
Jet black hair and the bluest of eyes
stared at me from a bed of ragged clothes
She is simply beautiful.
Her name is Josephina
and this enchanted little marionette must be a gift
from an equally enchanted Fortune Teller and Gypsy.
**Madame Gisella**
...From the moment I stepped amongst the large tents
and the strange and busy performers
I felt overwelmed
but not for long
....My feet were drawn to a beautifully decorated wagon
tucked away between freak show tent
and a tent full of exotic animals
....It was almost as if someone were staring at me
and whispering my name
....I slowly pulled back the brightly colored silk fabrics
that hung in the place of a door
and was delighted at the sound of the jingling bells
as I moved through each soft layer
There she was sitting
with her back to me
behind a little round table
..."Please come in Wendy my dear"
I was a little frightened as she called my name,
and inquired in a stumbling sort of way
as to how she knew my name.
She explained that she had known me a long time
I explained that I did not remember ever meeting her
but she was quick to let me know
"My dear, traveling souls meet in many different lives
and sometimes there are those of us that just remember
better than others."
....Madame Gisella took me in and became like a mother to me
She was a very kindred spirit
and had many tales to tell
but those are for another time
as well as my stories of my circus adventures
....For now I am near home in Wonderland
and excited to be back
...I am so very sorry that I have missed the Tea Parties,
but I assure you
I will be making up for it with a
"Grand Late Tea Party"
of course
....It is good to be back amongst my friends here in
Wonderland
and I cannot wait to have
a Mad cup of Tea with you
SOON.
